Payment and Shipping Information:
Payment Methods Accepted:
Our store uses a shopping basket feature provided by PayPal; with PayPal, you can pay for your order using Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express, and your transaction is processed through a secure server. The shopping basket's checkout function will only support PayPal payments and not other methods; however, we do have some other payment options available, as follows:
We accept payment by check or money order to:
Blue Jeans Cable
1419 Elliott Ave W, Suite C
Seattle WA 98119
USA
Also, we can process orders on a major credit card directly, without using PayPal; we are not able to directly charge your card in any currency other than U.S. dollars, so we will convert the amount to U.S. dollars at the current market exchange rate prior to charging; the total appearing on your charge statement may, therefore, vary somewhat from the total calculated in your shopping basket, as different charge card providers use different rates. We strongly prefer, whenever possible, to receive your order in writing to eliminate ambiguity and confusion, and so ask that, if possible, you send your credit card order by fax, using our order form and attaching a printout of your shopping basket contents. Our fax number is 1 206 284 2931.
Shipping:
We ship all orders containing at least one cable by International Priority Mail, which ordinarily arrives in 6 to 10 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) and which is trackable to most destinations. Orders which contain no cables (only adapters, banana plugs and the like) may, at our option, ship by International First Class Mail, which is similar in speed but usually nontrackable. In most countries, International Priority Mail will be delivered by your normal postal service carrier (e.g., the Royal Mail in the UK). While International Priority Mail is generally quite reliable as to timely delivery, on occasion a parcel will be delayed for customs processing.
Customs and Taxes:
We have found customs treatment of our shipments to be somewhat inconsistent. It is our understanding that, for shipments to the UK, the goods are subject to 17.5% VAT, 3.7% import duty, to which is added a flat customs processing fee. At present, we are unsure what the UK flat fee will be as mail classes have recently been revised; we believe that International Priority parcels will be delivered by the Royal Mail and be subject to a £4 fee, except for shipments valued under £18, which pay no charges. It is possible, however, that parcel delivery will have been delegated to ParcelForce, in which case the flat fee will probably be £14. While we have not encountered customers who have paid more than these amounts, we have had customers report paying no fees in situations where fees would have been expected. We cannot mark shipments down in value to reduce customs and VAT exposure.
